The Department of Surgery at Cooper University Hospital and Cooper Medical School of Rowan University seeks a dynamic Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon to lead the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional clinical expertise and technical proficiency, deliver outstanding patient outcomes, and lead the Division with a collaborative vision to advance the Plastic Surgery Program at Cooper University Health Care. This includes strengthening its presence within the Southern New Jersey region, the Level 1 Trauma Center, and nationally through its affiliation with MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled plastic surgeon with strong leadership and collaborative qualities to oversee the Plastic Surgery Division at all campuses in its clinical, academic, and teaching endeavors.
Cooper University Health Care, the clinical campus of Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, is the leading Academic Medical Center and provider of tertiary care health services to the Southern New Jersey region. MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper is the leading provider of cancer care in the region. Cooper’s main hospital is in Camden, NJ, across the river from Philadelphia. Cooper Cape is a Network hospital in Cape May Courthouse, NJ, on the Jersey Shore. Cooper has clinical campuses in the surrounding suburbs, including Cherry Hill, Moorestown, Voorhees, and Washington Township, with Ambulatory Surgical Centers in Voorhees and Moorestown. Through its strong partnership with MD Anderson Cancer Center, Cooper provides expert, comprehensive treatment for a high volume of patients facing complex malignancies.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Serve as the Head of one of the leading Plastic and Reconstruction Divisions.
- Recognized nationally and internationally in Plastic Surgery, with demonstrated involvement and leadership within major national and international professional societies. Superior clinical, research, teaching and interpersonal skills
- Collaborative leadership skills, which can be utilized to build upon the institution's clinical, academic, and educational missions.
- A track record of working collaboratively with physicians, physician leaders, and management teams
- Strategic thinking to plan and lead the growth and future of the Division.
- Demonstrate highly functional emotional intelligence
- A commitment to excellence and diversity.
- Foster a positive educational environment and mentor students and residents.
- Recruit, develop, and retain faculty members focused on clinical excellence and innovation.
- Ensure Plastic Surgery meets or exceeds benchmarked quality metrics for outcomes, patient experience, and quality rankings.
