Mississippi Orthopaedic Institute is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our orthopedic surgery team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced NP with a strong interest in orthopedic and joint replacement surgery to work closely with a highly respected orthopedic surgeon and deliver exceptional patient care.

Position Overview

The Nurse Practitioner will support all aspects of orthopedic surgical care, from pre-operative evaluations through post-operative follow-ups. This role requires strong clinical expertise, physical strength and stamina, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in orthopedic and joint replacement surgeries

• Conduct pre-operative and post-operative patient evaluations

• Develop and manage patient treatment and recovery plans

• Educate patients and families on procedures, post-operative care, and recovery expectations

• Collaborate closely with the orthopedic surgeon and clinical team to ensure high-quality outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Nurse Practitioner certification (NCCPA or equivalent)

• Prior experience in orthopedics and joint replacement surgery required

• Physically strong applicants only — must be able to assist in surgical procedures and perform physically demanding clinical duties

• Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient positioning and surgical support

• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
