Position Title: Mentored Research Training in Aging and Surgery (MERITAS) Fellowship
Job Description: Based in Boston, MA, MERITAS is the first NIH-funded two-year program designed to train surgical residents to conduct high-quality research aimed at improving perioperative care for older adults. Each year, the program provides 80% salary support for two residents.
In addition to a robust training curriculum, MERITAS fellows receive tailored mentorship from Harvard Medical School faculty with expertise across a range of disciplines. We are also happy to work with interested applicants to identify mentors who align with their research interests and professional goals.
The program provides 80% of salary funding. The remaining 20% should be provided by the home institution or an external grant.

Job Requirements:
Applicants must:
- be a surgical resident in good standing at an ACGME-accredited residency program
- have completed PGY-2 or PGY-3 of training.
- be a U.S. citizen or legal resident
- be able to commit to 2 years of dedicated research time in Boston
