Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting an Advanced Practice Provider to join an established Neurosurgery practice at Piedmont Athens Hospital in Athens, GA. The ideal candidate will be highly interested in Neurosurgery and focused on providing elite care to Piedmont’s patients
Position Highlights:
Full-time, 5 days a week
Rotations with partnered APP's for weeknight and weekend call
In this role you will:
Assist in the OR, hospital rounds, and clinic as needed for pre-op/post-op/and ED follow ups.
o Enter pre-op and post-op orders
Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations and record data in patient’s medical record in ambulatory practice and hospital setting. Clinical responsibilities require thorough attention to detail.
Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care.
Write progress notes; prepare patient work-ups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings.
Develop plans of care that minimize complications and successfully troubleshoot problems when they arise. Apply preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications.
Complete pre-op appointments for surgical patients, work with supervising physician to ensure all required labs, clearances and testing is satisfactorily complete well before surgery.
Manage first call on a rotating basis, typically one 3-day weekend in 6 and 2-4 additional weeknight call shifts per month. Holiday call rotation.

Preferred Qualifications
1-2 years of Neurosurgical -or- surgical experience with a high degree of clinical judgment
Minimum Qualifications
Masters, Bachelors Degree from an Accredited PA program and National Board Certification
