OPHTHALMIC SURGICAL ASSISTANT

Full-Time | Day Shift | Monday-Friday | No Nights | No Weekends | No Call
We are seeking a motivated Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or greater looking to advance their career and become an Ophthalmic Surgical Assistant. Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and flow of ophthalmic surgical cases
- Prepare operating rooms and procedure areas for surgery
- Assist with patient positioning and preparation
- Assist the surgical team during cataract and other ophthalmic procedures
- Maintain sterile technique and follow infection-prevention practices
- Assist with room turnover and preparation between cases
- Clean and prepare surgical equipment and instrumentation
- Assist with instrument processing and sterilization as needed
- Maintain appropriate supply levels and help identify needed inventory
- Follow all ASC policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Requirements
Qualifications
- Must be certified at a core level (COA, COT, or COMT)
- Certification as an Ophthalmic Surgical Assistant preferred or be willing to obtain certification after on the job training
- Previous ophthalmology/ophthalmic surgical experience preferred
- Experience in an ambulatory surgery center or operating room preferred
- Knowledge of ophthalmic surgical procedures, equipment, and terminology
- Understanding of sterile technique and infection-control practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume surgical environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Dependable, professional, and team-oriented
- Excellent communication and patient-care skills
