Allegheny Health Network’s Department of Neurology is seeking a Surgical Epileptologist to join our growing team at our Level 4 Epilepsy Center, in Pittsburgh, PA!
AHN’s Epilepsy Program has weekly epilepsy management conference, tackling challenging refractory epilepsy patients. This allows us to offer patients full gamut of advanced surgical options including robotic stereo-electroencephalography, surgical resective surgery, responsive neurostimulation, deep brain stimulation, laser ablation, and vagal nerve stimulation. Our Program actively performs 30-40 SEEG implantations per year with continuously growing volumes and 6 bed inpatient EMU. We are currently enrolled in multiple national clinical trials for medically refractory epilepsy including drug trials and surgically administered gene therapy. Lastly, our team has an active signal processing lab performing high-quality collaborative research with scientists from Carnegie Mellon University.
Job Qualifications
- Completion of ACGME approved Neurology Residency, Epilepsy Fellowship
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in Neurology
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
- Licensed in the state of Pennsylvania prior to employment

AHN Department of Neurosurgery and Neurology:
We integrate renowned experts in the subspecialties of neurology, neuroradiology, neuro-critical care, and neurosurgery to offer leading-edge diagnosis and treatment for patients with the most complex neurological disorders across 7 hospitals throughout Western PA.
AHN Department of Neurosurgery and Neurology currently staffs over 25 neurosurgeons, 35 neurologists, 15 Pain Medicine physicians and 80 advanced practice providers who specialize in a myriad of neurosurgical disorders, including brain, spine and skull-based surgery, stroke, movement disorders, cranial nerve disorders, neuro-oncology, epilepsy, headache, neuromuscular disorders, dementia, and concussions to name a few. The Institute a provides quaternary care services at Allegheny General Hospital (AGH) in Pittsburgh PA, that includes a level 1 trauma center. There is also a level 2 trauma center located at Forbes Regional Hospital (FRH), located in Monroeville, Pa. There are residency programs in Neurology and Neurosurgery along with several fellowships. The spine program offers a complete array of spinal procedures from endoscopic spine to complex deformity spine and everything in between.

The new hub is a centralized location encompassing wrap-around services, innovative care models, and multidisciplinary clinical providers enabling individuals with chronic neurologic conditions - and their caregivers - to live their healthiest lives.
