Position Summary
Vascular Institute of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Vascular Surgeon to join our growing outpatient vascular practice and office-based laboratory (OBL) environment. This position offers the opportunity to practice in a modern, minimally invasive vascular setting focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across arterial and venous disease management, with future expansion into an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) model.
The ideal candidate will have strong endovascular skills, experience managing complex vascular conditions, and a passion for outpatient procedural care. This physician will work collaboratively with an experienced multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, highly supportive clinical setting.

Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Evaluate and manage patients with a broad range of vascular conditions, including peripheral arterial disease (PAD), chronic venous insufficiency, dialysis access disease, aneurysmal disease, and thrombotic disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based vascular care practices.
- Perform comprehensive pre-procedural evaluations and post-procedural follow-up care.
- Educate patients and families regarding vascular disease processes, treatment options, and preventative care strategies.
Interventional Procedures
- Perform minimally invasive vascular procedures in the outpatient and office-based setting, including:
- Angiography
- Angioplasty and stenting
- Atherectomy
- Thrombectomy
- Venous ablation procedures
- Dialysis access interventions - Utilize advanced imaging and endovascular technologies to optimize patient outcomes.
- Coordinate care with referring physicians, hospital systems, and ancillary services when higher-acuity or inpatient management is required.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, technologists, and administrative leadership to ensure seamless patient care and operational excellence.
- Participate in clinical meetings, quality initiatives, and protocol development.
- Contribute to the continued growth and expansion of vascular service lines throughout the region.
Quality & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and payer requirements.
- Support quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives within the practice environment.
- Remain current with evolving vascular surgery and endovascular treatment standards through continuing medical education and professional development.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical institution
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Vascular Surgery
- Active or eligible medical licensure in Virginia and Maryland
- Strong endovascular and minimally invasive procedural skill set
- Excellent clinical judgment and commitment to evidence-based care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative outpatient practice environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in office-based lab (OBL) settings
- Experience with advanced arterial and venous interventions
